My buddy has a V4R console modded with Magic 3.1 Up until yesterday the machine ran like a champ. Now all of a sudden it decides that it no longer wants to play nice. The electrons never swirrled (just one ball in the browser screen) But this was never an issue. It reads originals (CD and DVD just fine) but backups just go to the browser screen. I am thinking the console cant find the 'groove' so this means 1 of 2 things to me. The console is dirty as hell and this bucko needs to seriously clean his laser. (Maybe his laser decided to shit or is on its way out) Or for some ungodly reason the Magic 3.1 decided that it no longer wants to play nice. You still have to disable the chip to play DVD movies so I am leaning towards the laser being on its way out (or dirty as shit)
    Any suggestions?

The non-swirling electrons suggest that something has moved. Either the chip, or the battery is dislodged or disconnected on the other side of the board.

The laser MIGHT be a second issue. Won't have anything to do with the elctrons question.

i think the electron blob is indicative of the clock needing to be reset.. from what i hear sometimes that helps..
you might wanna check the cmos battery and the clock wire, (magic has one of those right?)
