This is weird

OK so this is even weirder than my problem with my v5. I put a duo 2 se in my v4, and again I get a no disk error. I Remove the power line and leave everything else, and same error. I REMOVE THE GROUND, and everything works fine. WTF is wrong with the ground? I've analyzed that the ground gave me problems... If I remove power and ground, everything else works fine. My v5 is still showing no disk... What happens if you connect power without ground? Can it blow laser? I think that's what may have happened. I'm looking for answers... please someone help.

so laser isn't working right now? Maybe theres a bridge on the chip

laser works fine when chip ground and power is disconnected. when they are connected, laser is out. No shorts. There was a bios short which gave weird sound and no bootups, but that was quickly resolved. For my v5, I think the BA chip is out, because when ps2 boots up, laser does not light up and there is no red...
