What if i screw up my ps2 while installing a modchip will i be able to get $ony to replace it, if so how much would it be
or will they not do anything because the warrenty sticker is missing or they know i've taken it apart.

i did it before, i had a broken ps2 i gave it to my local sony shop, they fix it altogh i did not have the sticker, if its somthing small like ribon cable you just need to pay for the examenation, if it somthing big like burn mobo they charge 100$ for new one.
btw i install m2 on the new mobo works like charm!
if you have other q .....just ask.
some labs will accept PS2s without sticker, some will accept a voided out sticker and some won't accept it at all, it your location that counts....
BUT, they will all accept a to fix it for cash, and its always cheaper then a new one (they treat it as a PS2 without a valid warranty).
it worth a try anyway.
it will cost more when warrenty sticker is ripped off u can do a ps2 swap if u mess up
take a very fine/thin exacto knife, and you should see a line goin across the back of the PS2, put the exacto knife through that crack (only a bit), and slice a thin line through the sticker, worked for my friends ps2 that I chipped. Looks like the warranty label was NEVER touched and the ps2 was never opened ;)
Thanks for the input everyone
I'm sure i could install a modchip but just incase i mess it up its nice to know i don't have to hand over 300 for a new one.
So if i happen to screw it up i can just take it to my local $ony store and they get it repaired.
