umm - I just made the measurement as well - 400B laser are around 5 ohms on both coils.
The Dead V9 laser I have is 4.5+ ohms on one side and 0.8 ohms on the other... makes me a little worried now that replacing this guys laser will in itself not be enough - may also have to replace the LB chip...
anyone know if the BA and LB are interchangeable??
Oh Ent - BTW - it is entirely feasable that these lasers could work for months in another station after killing one in 3 days - some LB chips may have a slightly higher tolerence to heat damage due to excess current draw.
Also in the case of the one I have hear - it does NOT work on other stations - shows up dead in all. spins etc but sounds crook and never boots. Hopefully it was removed before to much damage was done.
Lastly it is happening on NTSC stations as well. Just more bad installs on the Euro PAL models - possibly as suggested before due to trying to install in sub zero euro temperatures giving the installers the shakes!
