Wait for new vers?

Hi,

I plan to get a ps2 with messiah for this summer, and was wondering if it's worth it to wait for the newer ps2's with progressive scan and network adapter. All I really care about is the network adapter. Also, I want to know that if it's likely that with the new version, we'll need a different or updated mod chip. So bascially, is it worth to wait, or should I just go grab ps2 now for $180? Thanks

A difficult one. The new PS2s may not work with the existing modchips but hopefully they are not modchip proof.
