Yeah, you will enjoy this in a big monitor & the best video quality is better in a PC-Monitor because it separates the colors Red, Green & Blue (RGB), kinda similar like "Component Video Technology" for TVs. Plus with a decent monitor you will enjoy all digital pictures.
on the whole vga boxes for the ps2 r crap cos PS2 cannot outpur true VGA.
not sure about the one that comes with the sony linux kit though
Image quality will be no better than regular TV. Buy a quality universal VGA convertor they come with different inputs. some have CATV tuners, others with just component video in. Havn't looked but others might have Cr Pr L inputs also. buy a quality unit and either make or buy the corasponding harness.
As for the linux kit, it ONLY works with the linux kit unfortunatly. The vesa output must be enabled in software and no games support it.
Hmmm Sony is ripping us off!!!

How do you figure?
You could get a cheap PCTV card like the Pinnacle PCTV Rave and use the video in function. You would also need a phono to stereo plug converter if you want the sound to go through your PC. I'm afraid you would still have a composite video signal however.
