That's the question... Should I just do it?
good luck man....they are not as easy as V5-V7 but it's not as hard as a V3....
LOL!
Thanx man but they are dead easy to chip... no worries. Even the V3
I was refering to the 'mysterious' V9 and V10 PS2 deaths after chipping.
I tried modding a v10 yesterday and discovered that the vias in back of the board are now non-metallic. They seem to be plastic coated making it much harder to solder to. If you're like me and cant seem to solder directly to the dvd ic and want to use the vias, even that is a challenge now. v10s are a pain in the ass, big time.
umm, that's what fiberglass pens are for.
I would never calss a V3 or V9/10 as dead easyya just showing off.
I would mod! never had problems... yet...
hey earthlord - it is luck of the draw - some V9's have vertually no coating on the vias - others have so much that you have to carefully scrape them so much that it is actually quicker to use the chip legs... gets scary when you scrape them to much as the tracks are so damn thin leading off from them.
you said it shadowknyght.no point of being fearful, as i say.just mod it!!!
