v9 PS2, replaced LA with LA6508A, eject light blinks

Hey folks. I've been having some problems getting this system working ever since the original LA6508 chip inside of it had it's leg broken off. So I pulled the la6508 out and replaced it with this la6508a as pictured. Now when i start the system, the eject light just continously blinks, and the disc drive does not spin. No ejecting or open/closing at all. However the system still boots, and you get picture on screen. As well, it may be worth it to note that it is currently modded with a Matrix Infinity. Pretty sure the Matrix is installed correctly as holding down the triangle button on the controller during bootup jumps directly to browser. I'd like to get this system working ASAP, so your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

sounds like the la replacement isn't installed correctly

umm and u sure the replacement is making good contact with the pads? Have u checked the fuse?

Okay just a little update. Got to opening the boy up today, checked all the fuses. All fuses turned out good, except ps8, which i got some resistance (so there was some continuity, but my meter did not read 0.000 and beep like it usually would). So my guess is that this fuse is blown. Can I get some confirmation on this, aswell how and what do i replace this fuse with? Anyway to test whether or not this will cure the problem?

Edit: As well, I have a v7 mobo here that gives continuity on the ps8 fuse. Would i be able to pull it off of this mobo and install it on the v9. Has anybody tried, is it hard to pull of? As well, what are the specs on this ps8 fuse? Thanks!

check on the mobo if the valvues are the same

they both say s2 on the top, so i would assume they are the same values... Will let you know how i make out with regards to replacing it.

Replace that ps8 fuse with another, and still getting flickering eject light. Any more ideas folks?
