V9 only reads CD

Hi

I have a V9 with HD7 laser and DMS3+ chip.

It didn't read anything. Changed the laser an LA chip, and now it reads CD's.
With DVD's (pressed movies and DVD-R) it spins one round and stops, spins a round and stops, and continues like this.

Removed the DMS chip, and the machine still has the same problem. Spins one round and stops, spins one round and stope.

What could be the problem ?

I believe it's still a laser problem... it can't find the groove on the disc (ground zero, so to speak).

I'd check the pots setting on the laser, perhaps adjust it down 100ohms. Then, if still not perfect, adjust the white cog-wheels 1-2 turns each in the counterclockwise direction.

This has worked in the past for me for similar issues. Guys, correct me if it doesn't apply in this case.

I have tryed to adjust the laser pot a bit down, and also tryed the the white cog-wheels, without any good results.

I think the next step is to reprogramm the EEPROM to the HD7 laser. evt. try with a 400C laser, and program the EEPROM to this laser.

well was your console originally a 400c unit? if not then just reprogram then u shoudl get the readability back

Nope, it was a HD7 unit.
