Today I tried to install an Octapus 3D on a V9 console, The Problems are
    1. No video/sound
    2. Disk won't spin
    3. tray won't eject
    4. Fan will not spin

I have checked for continuity between the bios and everything was fine, except I got a reading of 1670K-1690K OHM between these 2 points, but I think thats normal. I really don't know what could have caused the problem and I'm pretty much going crazy trying to figure this out. I think the installation is ok but it still will not work, but that thats why I posted this here hoping you guys can figure this out I have checked all fuses and they all have continuity.

Here is the PlayStation 2's behavior

    1. Plugged in the power cable
    2. Flipped the switch in the back, the red reset light came on
    3. Pressed reset, reset turned green & eject light came on , fan doesn't spin, black output & no sound
    4. pressed eject button, nothing happens, tray doesn't eject

    Here is another sequence

    1. Plugged in the power cable
    2. Flipped the switch in the back, red reset light comes on
    3. Pressed Eject button, reset turns green & eject light came on, black output & no sound
    4. Press Eject again, Nothing happens, tray doesn't eject

Here is the V9 diagram for Octapus 3D. Now here are some pics of the install (hosted on imageshack.us)

might wanna re-do ur 6 7 8 points, they look like hey've just been tacked on instead of making positive contact, tin the via 1st with solder before attaching the wires, might take abit of scratching and flux application for it to stick properly... you might also wanna re-do the bios portion, make sure everything has good contact and clean up all the left over solder dross and wires after...make sure nothing is shorting.

it seems the PS2 has been pretty much messed up from the list of problems. i'd suggest remove the modchip and all wires then clean up all the solder points. if the PS2 still works then you need to be careful with your next attempt otherwise you might need a professional to fix the botched motherboard.

uugh - what a horrible little chip. Think I'll stay learn of those
Some very suspect soldering there. Like wmb88 says if you are really having no luck with it, the best bet is to remove it and see if your PS2 still works 100% From there you can attempt to redo the chip.

Points 678 are very dodgy. Too much flux there and it looks like you haven't scrapped the via's clean. Scrape them clean, tint them with some flux and then the wires should stick easily.

The bios points also look like they are shorting. use some alcohol and clean up the excess flux.

I didn't have the time to check all those photos,
but if you have done the installation right,
then the chip will definatelly work.

One thing that is very important to Octapus3D succesful installation,
is to leave the black screw over the chip untight,
cause the metal heatsink is sometimes pressing the chip.

So here is what you will do:
    1. Remove all screws and test the console
    2. Cut the metal heatsink (photo is coming soon)
    3. Cut the plastic on dvd-rom (photo is coming soon)

Good Luck, try this before removing the chip!

psaras is right but all you need to do is cover the chip in electrical tape so its no hitting the metal shielding. Also yes try cleaning the bios and try to group the wires like this
V4 MI w/500gb HD & custom HD fan
    V9 CC 2.0 w/300gb HD
    V4 DMS4 Pro w/250gb HD
    V3 CC 2.0
    V12 Modbo 745 /clear case
    V0 SCPH-10000 JAP w/ DMS3

Well, I removed the chip and it still acts the same so it wasn't the install... but now what? What are possible things that can cause the PlayStation 2 to act like this? Thanks for the help.

cleanup all the areas where you soldered. double and triple check for shorts. Its easy to miss a small solder splash which will cause problems. Also test all the fuses with a multimeter.
