v9 no video or disc spin

Hi,
I have a v9 that was previously modded and it doesn't spin up and there is no video/sound.
There is just a quick flash in the black screen a few seconds after powering up.
The laser moves into position and attempts to focus/track
I tried a v7 drive and the spindle worked like normal

but still no video.
There are no bios bridges and the vias are still linked with the top of the mobo. All fuses are good as well.
Any other ideas?

Fired the LA6508 chip!!

ok I have a replacement for that.
just wanted to be sure that was the problem.
The laser coils are still reading above 5 ohms.

Can a bad LA6508 be the cause of no video?!

I have done the Romeo mod to my V9, also black screen on boot.

Not sure but I'll let u know how the replacement chip goes.
I tried the drive in a different v9 and it spins up and reads perfectly so something is up with the mobo for sure.
