Problem is no discs will read now. Once the chip was installed originals and backups wont read. I've done the psx1 and xbox chips this was the first of my ps2 tries. Do I need to adjust the laser? If so how? Also I've noticed with my chip on other website install pics there is a extra wire used as a jumper up by where the cdrom clip down is at. http://www.norcalmods.com/graphix/v9-infinity.jpg

Anyone know what this is for? On the matrix website it dosent have this jumper and the sx wire is located in different place.

Please help been working on this for the last 3 days soldering and re-soldering.

The jumper you are referring to is the Romeo mod that is performed on the v9/v10 PS2's. This should have nothing to do with your PS2 not booting originals of back-ups, unless your laser and or LA is now fried. Or perhaps you blew a fuse.

You might want to try totally removing your chip to make sure your PS2 is still wotking the way it should be.
