v9 and dms3
hi,
i just purchased a v9 ps2 in canada. i have decided to install a mod chip :D .
1) my choice is going to be dms3. is it a good choice? any other suggestion for a v9?
2) Also, what is a reasonable price to get it install with dms3 and labour? around 100us?
3) if i mod my ps2 (let's say the dms3), how can i test it so that i know my ps2 is really installed with a dms3 chip? may be try to update with the latest dms3 bios? Is there anything that I should pay more attention to?
Thanks a lot.

I have a ps2v9 50001 utsc u/c with dms3v9 firmware 1.8 and it is awesome. I had it for 6 weeks and absolutely no problems. You can tell a dms3 by Booting method, explorer 1.0 give dev. mode browser and when you load upgrade tells latest firmware flash. when u test load movie press square, ps1 circle, ps2 will load auto or you can press x and select. select is fast boot, no ps2 logo.
I purchased my dms3v9 and dms3v2 from Foundmy.com (Canada) for $106 us dollars on nov 21 and received it in texas on nov 25 and received 2 free video stabiliser and another free gift.
I shipped two ps2's to loy for $12.45 UPS and paid $60 dollars for a repair of a ps2v7 and install two dms3 with video stabilisers. I then paid loy 12.45 to ship back to me from MD to texas.
I am extremely happy of ps2newz for all infor on chips, installers and good sellers. I have a modded ps2 success story. I only wished that I could have wrapped the ps2v9 as a christmas present but I worried about the v-9 problem and wanted to take the 30 day direct exchange store policy.
