v9 dead without dms3 now
i went about removing the entire dms3 installation after my first 3 attempts with installing it failed on this v9. Checked all of the mainboard for shorts, solder blobs (nothing). Checked VIA point to VIA point for shorts with continuity tester (nothing). Verified all mainboard fuses and the results i found were nothing wrong. So could I possibly have a defective LB11971 or 508TPQ?? can someone help me locate a replacement parts dealer.
I was also wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot a little further into this installation turned repair. any further tips would be greatly appreciated. any pcb part numbers that i should also swap or verify with a multimeter please do mention. I assume the fuses are PS1 to PS16 and SMT fuses labeled with an "0".
Perhaps im wrong.. but i would appreciate your feedback
Thanks in advance, happy holidays!
try the faq forum for fuse guides they are silk screened onboard indicating the fuse value if indeed a fuse has popped its pretty hard to blow a fuse even when shorting points believe it or not as a rule of thumb get an old but limber toothbrush and dust the board over to make sure noe stray loose solder is hiding anywhere if that dont work get a mag glass and work over all the board making sure not bridge's are present between any components or ic's.
