i tries installing a messiah2 into a v9 which resulted in the machine booting up to a blank display with no eject. i removed the modchip but the problem still remains!!
anyone out there any ideas? i did have difficulty with the cd/dvd points if that makes any difference or helps.

check all your points for solder splashes - especially around the bios chip.
did u do the romeo mod? Also check all the fuses on the board - maybe one blew?

what about on the vias that you soldered to - are they still intact?
Did the board work at all after powering it up with the mod chip? do you know if any wires were soldered in the wrong places?

After the first attempt at install the machine powered on ok but acted like there was no modchip installed. im pretty sure that the vias are ok but i soldered on or two of the points to the cd/dvd controller instead as i could not get them to solder to the vias.

doesnt sound good - if all the fuses are ok, and the via test ok and there's def no solder splashes (did you check with a magnifying glass - even a really tiny spash can could problems) then there might be a problem with ur bios chip
