Ok ive got a v9 with majic 50k been modded for a few months now
right after install it would not read CDs...I didnt bother with it because I used faplink to network cd isos over and burned DVDs
Anyhow the ps2 kept acting up cause my kids would leave it on all the time.
pulled it apart to see i had a split in the ribbon cable to the drive spindle so i replaced it. Still wont spin up the game.
I took rubbing alcohol to the lens to clean it up .
same result nothing.
for a little bit it would play storebought games fine and not play backups at all.
now it does nothing. Seems to be laser not reading disc to spin up
I checked pots on the laser
DVD 1.81 k/ohms
CD 1.28 k/ohms...
Is that right for a V9 I thought it was supposed to be around 600-800 not 1200-1800
Romeo mod was performed. in the 5vt place behind the ethernet connector
I think I fried my lazer with DVD+Rs instead of using DVD-Rs high resistance wont let power through
I looked over the MB to find no blown fuses
ill be sitting here hitting refresh please answer me asap
