I have a new v10, and a older v7 ps2. I am looking to get one modded so it will work with the hd and such. As of now I am completely undecided on which system to get modded and what chip to go with. I have done some searches and it looks like the matrix infinity chip seems to be pretty popular. I guess if you had the choose between a v7 or v10 and a mod chip, what would you do? I am going to send out the ps2 to get modded, I just want to make sure that I get the most flexable system when it is done. I do have a modded xbox, and that kinda of what I am looking to get into. I would like to get something that is hdd capable with the ablility to play backups and imports. Let me know, and thanks for all the help. I currently have a v4 that has a magic v chip that is not hdd compatable (also for sale). I am just looking to get a more updated and updatable system.

probably the v7, really dont matter as long as the la fix on the v10 then get either, if you were doing it yourself then I would say v7 cuz it is a little easier for the first time

Ok, so them what is going to be a good all around chip. I don't have any brand preferances, I just want to be able to use the hd and backups like stated earlier. Thanks for the help so far.

If you are doing it yourself, v7 with Matrix Infinity. If you are sending it out to be done, V10 with Matrix Infinity and Romeo Mod.

Cool, thanks for the input. I am definitly sending it out to get done. I have done enough chip installs, and its time to have a pro do it. Thanks again, I think I am going with the infinity chip in the v10. Kinda what I had in mind, just not sure if there is a big difference in the v7 and v10 ps2's.

Reason I said the v10 was so the Romeo mod could get done at the same time as the mod. If you already have the Romeo mod, then it really doesn't matter which one you send out - they will both be good machines.
