V7 PS2 strange boot problem

Hi,

I have aquired a faulty V7 PS2. It had a blown PSU, fixed that. I then changed F1 and PS1 and it turned on all ok, screen, DVD etc. But after about 5 seconds it would cut out. Then it blew the PSU again, so fixed it again and changed the fuses. Now it wont boot at all, you get the red standby light for a split second then it trips out (you can here a choke on the back of the mainboard cutting the power off) Has anybody got any ideas what has died? It's so anoying to know that I was so close to fixing it.

There must be short somewhere making the fuse keep on blowing, check it with a mag glass!!, I take it it was originally damaged by a failed install so proberbly solder balls or at worst circuit damage!
