    V7 Ntsc w/ M2 1.30

I have a strange problem with my V7.

It's strange when you read my other post: here

Now i can boot backup games and original games fine but nothing else will boot. Games will play, but:

    1. Burned movies will either boot to browser or go back to browser after booting.

    2. Original movies will start to boot and then make a grinding noise (laser/motor?)

    3. Ps1 games boot to browser or back to browser.

    4. Music cd's play fine.

Only thing is, before installation, everything booted fine and i havent changed any laser settings so i wouldnt think the laser needed an adjustment.

    See what I mean

    *update

I have now noticed that the ps2 seems to boot all media fine when the chip is disabled.

    The situation now is:

Ps2 will only boot game originals and game backups when chip is enabled.

Ps2 will boot everything except game backups when chip disabled.

Is this the way the M2 1.30 is supposed to behave? I was under the impression that it should boot normal media without disabling the chip.

Or can anyone tell me if there was an earlier version of the M2 that had these specs?

    Thanks.

    Okay. Finally located the instructions.

I'm assuming this is normal and you all called me an idiot after reading this post.

    Thanks very much.

Wish I would have seen this earlier. Yes - you do need to tur off the chip for the mentioned operations.

Hopefully the next messiah chip will not need the same.
