V7 not playing DVD games??

I tried installing a magic 3.1 in a v7 with no luck... after checking and resoldering I finally got it to play PS1 backups and PS2 CD-r's. but when I put in a DVD backup the laser makes wierd noises and wont play

anyone have an idea? its a V7 so I dont suspect the laser to be that shot, and if it was wouldn't have trouble reading CDr's rather then DVD's??

well u can try using the oposite point for w wire get me a pic and i will show u
