v7 messiah2 problem.
I installed a messiah2 in a v7 and did something wrong evidently.
I have removed the chip and cleared up but i still get the same problem.
When i power it up the green light come on but that is it, i get no picture and no sound and eject does not work.
After a bit or research i thought that it could be that the ps11 fuse had blown but i have replaced that and i am still getting the same problem.
Is there anything else that i can try before i bin it. :banghead:
This is the second one that has done this to me.
I am getting pulled deeper and deeper into the xbox route.
Someone must have seen this or have a clue.
Post a pic of your install. That gives a lot of clues to what may be going on.
Is your ps2 working properly if the chip is removed?
The chip has been completely removed and i am still having the problem will try to post a decent pic later this evening.
If you don't get even get a flicker or anything on your tv when you power up the ps2, then my guess is that you have a short.
I shorted out the solder point on the back side of the PS2 motherboard (the wire poked through the single layer of electrical tape that I had put on it), grounding out the signal and even though the ps2 would turn on.... the tv didn't even flicker at all (no signal whatsoever).
I'm not sure what to tell you about the eject button. I haven't had that problem.
I know its a pain in the ass... but recheck EVERYTHING... in triplicate if you have to... WITH a multimeter. I spent 5 sleepless hours because I had a solder point on a wrong contact (it was one point over from where it should have been)... had i checked the points instead of just looking for solder bridges, i would ahve saved myself a lot of trouble and worry that i'd fried my ps2.
Anyone got any other ideas...
was i right to change the ps11 fuse....?
Or should it have been the ps14.
