When i instert a DVD Movie into my PS2, (The Rock) 3 out of 4 times its identified as a PS2 Disc and won't boot. I'd like to know what wires are responsible for the DVD playback since the Original and DVD-R movies worked a like 1/4 tries. Thanks

you have to boot it in psx/dvd mode.
with the disc in the tray, and in standby mode, press & hold reset until the eject light flashes, then let it go

When the Chip is on the PSX games Original and Back UPs alike are identified as Playstation 2 Games in the Browser, when i try to play it i see a little flicker in the upper left corner and than it takes me back to the browser. When the Chip is off PSX Backups games are identified as Audio CDs since they have audio tracks on them. The Original PSX games work fine with the Chip Off. DVD movies boot also. PS2 backUPs and Originals work fine.
Which wires do you think are causing this problem.

Maybe is very dirty or bad (scratches ,etc).
Try with a new good psx cdr.

I finally got it to work. I have no idea what it was though.
