v7, Magic 2 red pnb prob

I ordered a premodded ps2 from a certain website, and i got it and tried playin my ps2 backups, that worked on another modded ps2, and dindnt work, then my ps1 backups, didnt work, my originals work, is there sumthin im missin, like certain way to turn it on, the website said since its a ver 7, they are pickier with the media type(cdr) is that true? because i got the ps2 backups to work, but only once in awile, then the others they go to the insert a ps2 or ps1 cd screen....... can sumone please tell me whats goin on!:

Suggestions:

1. email the supplier and ask what brands of media your unit was tested with.

2. A wire or something may have worked loose during shipping. If all else fails, return the unit to have it inspected.

Tested Cd-rs with Platinum Cd-rs,used Ritek DVD-r media for
testing purposes and had no problems. where the hell do i find those, also if a wire was loose, wouldnt it not work at all

Check Pricewatch.com for the media. They have killer prices on that stuff.

this website sent me way to power up the ps2 and load the games....tell me if this sounds right or what, cuz it still dont work,

Please note that to switch between PS2 and PSX mode will require a hard
reset to switch off the PS2. (ie hold RESET button for more than 2 seconds
to switch off the machine.
It is assumed that your machine is in the "Off" mode
PS2 games

? Press EJECT button to switch on your machine.(tray will come out)
? Insert PS2 game in tray, then press/tap the RESET button once.
? Tray will close by itself, PS2 reboots and the game will load.
or this:
? Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
? Insert PS2 game in tray, then press EJECT button to close tray.
? Once the tray closes fully, press/tap the RESET button once to load game
are they feedin me bs or what, sumone needs to help me see if i got dicked over
