Hi all,
Could some cool post a picture of the 'eye pattern'
test point on the PS2 motherboard version 7 gh-19 or gh-22 I think.
I have just bought an oscilloscope and have pics for most of the

ummm?? shouldn't they all be pretty much the same? (possibly niave comment here... never had the need to check it)
I have a picture of an "eye-pattern" but it does not mention the station model - just the scope settings - 20mV/div 0.2uSec /div
Pretty much just looks like a bunch of offset repeating sine waves...
Hi ShadowKnyght,
Thank you for your reply.
I am looking for the phyical location on the version 7 motherboard where I can connect the oscilliscope.
I understand the waveform will look pretty much the same on all the models.

in that case - the connection points will also be similar - one thing to remember - as long as you don't short two points together when probing - you can check between ground and any point until you see what you are after - so a quick search in the general area will not harm your station as long as you are careful...
But as I have not done this check before - this may take a while - if the reference is not ground and is instead a diffrential between two points not referenced to ground... in which case you could be searching for a while - but that is how one learns new things...![]()

Hi ShadowKnyght,
Thank you for that web site has alot of info

Where you able to get the eye-pattern on the scope? If so, where you able to keep the pattern continuesly on the scope. Problem with my test is I only see the pattern for 1-2 seconds, just when it recognizes the cd/dvd rom and once it starts to read it turns into fine lines going up and down across the scope. When the CD/DVD stops reading I get a flat line going across the scope.
