v7 ejection problem

i have a no sod v7 with dvd swap magic disks. when it gets to the insert disk screen i hold down the eject buttion til the light goes from green to orange but the light never changes to orange the eject tray comes out i swap the disk with dvd backup, but the eject tray does not return inside by it shelf. i then push the eject the tray goes in i push x on the controler and it gives me the insert disk screen with pink lines on sides. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong, how long does it take for light to change?
the wierd thing is i got it to work one time but the light never changed to orange and it still worked. any info will great thanks.

i got it to work. i just got to hold down the eject botton down for a full 1 min or 2. then the eject tray comes out and then i push it in by hand. this is the only way it works. does anyone know if this will mess up my laser or anything else? any info will be great thanks
