Never used a Magic V, but I've been using Duos for a while now and they're pretty good for the money.

Duo2SE is an awesome barebones chip. Cheap, reliable, boots everything with a single tap of the reset button. I highly recommend for average backup users.

I really don't know if there's a difference between the two... they're identical in every way. I think one less wire for the DUO2Se... the 'y' is gone. But other than that, same features, same boot methods... same everything. Take your pick.

V7 can be use with Magic 3.1, Duo, and Duo2 SE
Magic 3.1 is better but more wires to solder ($9, discontinue product)
Duo is cheap, easy to solder ($9)
Duo2 SE is like 5 bucks more, easy to solder ($15)

I just did V7 with Duo, easy , quick. I had V7 with Magic 3.1 before took longer time to install. Both work perfect.

Remember, make sure all the wires as short as possible. You will get 100% boot all the time.

duo2se just has newer code to work better with 9-10 and 1 less wire as compaired to duo2
duo only work on 1-7 but r discontinued and now when u buy 1 u will most likely get a cheap clone(some clones work fine and some don't so better off just gettion an orginal 1)
