v5 - Reset light comes on, but nothing else
v5 - Reset light comes on, but nothing else –

I've got a v5 machine here that I'm trying to fix for a customer. It's never been modded, but he's done some pretty good damage trying to fix it himself.
Here's the symptoms: Machine powers up into standby (red light comes on), but if you press the Reset button, the red light flickers green for a second, then back to red and the machine does nothing (doesn't bootup or have any video). If you press the eject button, it does nothing at all (doesn't eject or even light up).
I went through and checked all of the fuses and found only PS11 was blown (see below - was related to a fan problem). I also checked for continuity between pin 8 on the BA chip and ground, but there wasn't (meaning the BA chip is fine).
Here's the damage he's done to his PS2: First off, the clip that hold the controller ribbon cable in is busted off, but I'm pretty sure this isn't related to the problem. Secondly, he's ripped the fan connector off of the main PCB, but I've just soldered the fan wires directly to the board - so this shouldn't matter either. The PS11 fuse was blown, so I've replaced it.
From what I've been able to find here after doing a search, one fella mentioned that it's probably a fried mobo. Does anyone know what else could cause this? Or is this board D.O.A.?
Thanks

hi. I had the same problem with a v9, but it was because the 3.3volts of my MXL2 were in contact with the gnd. Si if this ps2 has never been modded i don't know sorry but it is a problem of GND. Try to see the resistence between a 3.3volts (or 5volts) and GND.

Sorry S.pantano,... but I have no idea what you're talking about. You think I should check to see what kind of resistance is between the 3.3v and GND?
Yesterday I messed around with it a bit more and tried a couple of things. Tried a new power supply (just for the hell of it) - no go. I also tried a new Reset/Eject piece with a new ribbon cable - still no go.
Anyone have any ideas?
