I have a friend who was playing his ps2 turned it off came back to find the ps2 will not power on at all. if someone could please tell me which fuse to check it would greatly appreciated.

This is not for the amateur I'm afraid. If it won't power on then the fuse on the power supply has probably blown (or the zener diodes) and for a reason that needs to be professionally resolved.
have you check the fuse in the plug i know this sound stupid but also have you check the power lead and plug point .if you can comfirm it's the power supply you could replace this as a unit instead off repair
check the BA chips, and check PS1 and PS14

what version ps2 ? it's either an onboard fuse as said or 1amp diode on the psu.

update the ps2 started working again. dont know what happended
