V5 DMS3 V2.0 problems
V5 DMS3 V2.0 problems –
I have installed the DMS3 V2.0 chip twice to 2 V7 PS2's with no problem. i have intalled the same chip to a V5 ps2 and i'm having problems, the ps2 boots but when booting instead of the usual booting sound it just makes a really high pitched noice like a ringing. i have tryed booting all types of media even original games with no success just goes to the browser screen with the disc on the screen, i then click on it and it just goes back to the browser screen all this still with the ringing noice.
what could i have done wrong? any help please.
It is posible that there is a short on the BIOS or in the audio circuit. Or wires crossing the audio circuitry. Something like that.
where abouts is the audio circuit on the board? thanks
Check with a magnifier and Multimeter for a short on the BIOS chip.
i have fixed it thanks for the help guys! it was a short on the BIOS just the smallest peice of solder connecting 2 of the pins together had to use a magnafing glass 2 spot this very small bit of solder. thanks for the help anyway.
