v4 ps2 - apple chip - new games?

I've had my v4 ps2 (obviously) for a while now, modded with an apple chip...

I'm still able to play my old back ups, but all these latest games aren't working at all... I have about 100 dvd's that aren't playable... I don't think it's the media, cause I always order the same media from the same place....

It just sits at the startup screen... It doesn't go to the RSOD...

Is my chip outdated? Do I need a new mod or a new ps2? Any info is appreciated....

are these burnt discs or originals

and do older burnt and original games work ?

Yeah... all my older "backups" work........ none of the recent stuff is working...

Recent originals boot up fine....

How fast are you burning the backups? Try and burn them at the lowest speed. And even though you buy the same brand media, the actual manufacturer may be different.

I'm still burning at 1x....

hmmmm... I've tried dvd-r's..... imma try cd-r's.... let's see if it gives me the same prob....

I agree with relaxxx. I've never heard anything good about Princos. Get Verbatim or TDK.

I didn't suspect the media cause I had my ps2 sitting w/out use for about 2 yrs or so.... So I was thinking maybe the newer games have something where my mod needs to be updated...
