This was my first mod. I likely fried the BIOS chip. From below does that sound likely?

I turn on the main switch and boot up and get the main screen but the glow wisps are just one large one instead of spinning like normal. I can go into the Browser or System Config fine. If I eject the tray to put in a disc the sound starts skipping/repeating. It reads the inserted disc but goes to a black screen only. If I turn it off to standby and then back on again it only gets a black screen and no main menu. Has troubles ejecting the disc to give it back to me unless I turned off the main power for a few minutes and then start it up with Eject.

I have removed the chip and looked closely at all the points I had soldered to. All seem clean and independant of nearby contacts.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

You get one big blue blob because you need to set the date and time. Do yuo have a controller plugged in when you boot it up? The infinity looks for a controller in port 1 for 10 seconds, and displays a black screen while doing this.Does your Infinity have the yellow dot or the blue dot on the chip?

It's been a long time since I've had to set the date and time! I did have a controller in the first slot which is how I knew I could go into the browser and the system config. There is a blue dot on the chip.
