Chipped a v4 for someone, laser was about knackered, I told him this when he picked it up. Anyway, he had a go at fixing it himself and completely ****ed the laser and the ribbon. I've put a new laser in and a spare laser ribbon (second hand).

Anyway, i think either that ribbon or the reset switch itself was faulty (was lighting up as it should) and I did get it to come on and eject all right if I wiggled the lead.

Anyway, he was playing with it and couldn't get it to work, so to test had a go at shorting out the pins on the lead that plugs into the reset switch, which got it to eject, switch on and off, but unfortunately, must of shorted something he shouldn't and its now gone off dead, no lights or nothing.

As far as I can tell no fuses have blown and the chip is still fine.

Has anyone got a diagram with the layout of fuses for the v4 board or any idea on how to fix this?

Also, my cousin has a V5 that someone bought a nosolder mod for. Put it in and its also gone dead in practically the same way. Any ideas?

    Ian.
