V4 (gap) b & i points ripped off
V4 (gap) b & i points ripped off –
I just bought a cheap defect ps2. The guy had tried to install a chip, but has managed to rip the B and I points off.
I figured "Hey, I can fix that.... probably...", but it seemes I have no idea when it comes to it :P
Can I re-link the points, or is the ps2 fooked?
I could always use it as spare parts, but it would be fun to manage to fix it
relink the point from the bottom of the board to the dvd controller point. I have repaired a lot of these.
Okay, sounds easy enough. Thanks!
But I'm not entirely sure where the dvd controller points are positioned (I've modded a quite a few consoles now, but I've never had to accire this particular knowledge).
And you said "point", not "points". Should I link both to one (B & I to dvd controller) ?
Oh, and if I where to install a chip, where should I connect the two points? The same points on the backside of the board?

look at the old messiah diagrams they show both top and bottom points or for a small dfee I can do it for you.
that would be more expensive then it's worth
I live in Norway :P
look in the diagram in the main ps2 forums, you will find what you need.
Thank you very much for your help!
I think I got it now!
If anything use some conductive paint... works great!
I did as letsmod said, but I still get a black screen.
When I boot, the red power light and the blue eject light is on. Nothing happens.
If I press eject, the blue light blinks for ten seconds, but the tray does not come out.
I also found that the moron I bought the thing from had bridged the scex-point with the resistor below when he had removed his chip. I found this out after trying to boot it once, so could anything have shorted there?
Did you ever get it to the browser screen?
