v4 freezes!!!

I have a v4 ps2 and when i turn it on, the ps2 freezes like 3 sec. after the boxes appear and the lights are flying around.......Does this sound like i have a solder bridge or is there something else wrong? The chip was removed from the ps2 with no luck......any help would be appreciated.......

m8, i just had the same problem on a v4 ps2 (with gap) i had the chip installed and 4 some reason it didnt work so i decided **** it ill take out the chip and start again. but whe i booted it first time it booted until the lights are flying around then when they come2gether it stalled. so i went through all the points i had soldered 2 to check for shorts and cleaned every point with a blade making sure none touched. the ps2 now boots fine but i am having trouble getting it 2 read discs but thats a diffent story i think that could be the laser dirty or need 2 be realigned.
