V4 Duo2SE only boot DL backups??

Here's the quick:

Modded a V4 with a Duo2SE and discovered the laser was junk.
Installed NEW 400C laser.
Now the PS2 won't boot single layer backup discs. Has no problem with DL Discs (God of War or GT4 on Verbatim).
This is the only PS2 I have that won't boot single layer backups discs.

I can boot DVD movies on the same media (TY +R 16X) with no problem so reading the media is no problem, just booting it.

have you tryed -r try droping the dvd pot

I'm gonna hook the Laser up to a scope Monday and see what's going on.
