v4 Chip help –
12-16-2005,12:25 PM
I have a customers V4-no gap I just chipped with the Matrix MX4. Tried to update the firmware. The drive spun for a second and now nothing. When I turn it on with any disk in, the laser lights red for a second, the drive spins around 1/16 of a turn and than nothing. I didn't check any fuses yet but could this also be the BA chip that is fried? What BA chip do I test and what pin do I test for ground to see if it's blown? Thanks.

Well I solved the problem by replacing the motherboard...and the laser...and the tray...lol. I'm not sure what happened but I think it had something to do with the "A" point. I used the top point on top of the resistor and I think it fried something to do with the BA chip as pin 8 does now ground out.
