v3 install driving me crazy!!!

hi guys

installing a mi clone into a v3 pal console, and i'm having strange problems with it. after installing when i boot it up it boots originals showing the small 1.38 logo under the ps2 and continues on to boot the game as normal.

when i insert a backup it boots with the 1.38 logo then hangs on a black screen.

it also has the 10 sec delay before boot when no controller is inserted and can be disabled on start up.

BUT, this is where it gets even stranger . afetr a few boots etc, it then reverts back to acting as if no chips installed, no 1.38 logo on original or backup, no delay or disable. BUT if i leave it for a couple of hours and reboot its back to booting like at the start of my post, keeps going on in this cycle.

i've changed the chip and re-installed a different chip using the bios points on top of the board, rather than the points on the bios chip which i used at first.

anyone know what this might be as its driving me nuts!!

I have experienced this with NH9/Modbo ( Matrix infinity clones ) on V5/V7 and V12. Sometimes they just boot fine only the first time, and after that they give a constant RSOD. It must be a faulty production.

Yes.....I have 22 defective modchips NH9 from 300 pices....sometimes one after another..
