check point Z , you must have shorted the resistor or ****ed it up.
check for any other shorts on bios and on pint B and I.
had same problem after dou install . point z was ****ed , i have changed the resistor and all working 100%
hey there was a solder bridge but i fixed it, checked w multimeter and cleared it up, but problem remains. which resistor are you talking about? its probably ****ed all right. how do i change it?
check the resistor banks with a multimeter check if they have the correct values
!!!! but i dont know the resistor values to begin with!! is it possible to wreck the controller chip? do you have values for the pins (in ohms between adjacent pins)?
well its a resistor bank , 4 resistors in a raw .
so all should be the same value.
so just check all 4 of them , also check from 1 point to the controller chip.
anyhow , on my ps2 the resistor look fine , but only when i changed it was all fixed.
I'm having the same problem but on a V4, after I installed it the PS2 woudn't play backups, so I figured something was screwed up at A, B, I, since those were the points I had a problem with.
After I tried to fix those points the eject doesn't work, for me at least it can't be Z since there isn't a resistor there, I've desoldered A, B, I, and still the eject doesn't work.
I think I might have to go ahead and let a pro take a look![]()
You guys have shorts on the pins.. check with multimeter, use desoldering wick, flux and use a razor blade and slide the blade in between each set of pins.. Also its not a bad idea to clean the area with a solvent and a toothbrush.
I spent the last 3hrs working on it, shoulders are a bit sore![]()
So I'll take a look tomorrow, thanks for the advice, I guess I didn't clean up as well as I thought.
hi alll
l had the same problem on a V3 with duo2se (no eject even with no chip installed) the only way l could of fix mine was to replace the Z point resistor ...l got one from a old v4 board....l hope this helps..
