V2 PS2 and Matrix Infinity

HI, I just installed A matrix infinity on a V2 PS2. And It has problems reading backup games and movies. I know the chip is installed right cuz I can see the LOGO when I insert a PS2 original game, and it reads cd-r backup of HD advance and firmware upgrade from cd-r I burned. I can also disable the chip. I us RITEK G04 media and they work fine on a PS2 V5 I just modded with the same type of chip. Can someone tell me what could be the problem?

OH YEA!! I have already updated firmware to 1.21.

So do you get read disc errors when it tries to read the disc?

after trying to read the disk I get Disc read error!!!!

Get a new laser unit. That PS2 is at least 3-4 years old. Lasers are like light bulbs, they wear out.
