v14 mechacon crash & laser

I got an MI green dot 1.88 in a v14, no laser fix. Sometimes the mechacon crashes if I turn on & off or reset the console too much in a short period of time. The solution is to unplug then replug the power. When the mechacon crashes, is the laser still safe, as in won't burn out?

I thought the v13 and up slimline ps2 already had a laser fix. I also read this thread here: psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?p=294037&highlight=mechacon#post294 037

it wont kill the laser but i think there is something wrong with the install if it crashes that often

I just wanted to know if mechacon crash will kill my laser, but I guess it won't. I thought it was normal to get a mechacon crash on a modded slim pstwo if you reset, or turn off and on the console consecutively.

well, when i do the resets few times within a couple of sec, my ps2 v15 was working fine
