    Hi,

    I got a v12 with a lot of caps/resistors destroyed.
Is anyone able to tell me if they are resistors or caps and what value they are? I don't know where to look this op. That way I'de be able to replace them.

    Thank you,
    Ferid

before you ask: it wasn't me

It's a fantastic work. I belive the traces are also burnt, so I doubt replacing the components will be enough.

    regards, Stephen

Looks like only the scex cap is missing.
Try to bridge its 2 pads as it appears that the ps2 can work without it.
Maybe the other parts are still ok despite of their look

Is there a way to find out what values they are?
nexus6:I'll probably try to bridge it and see what happens..

I don't think you are gonna get answers from anyone Ferid. It's rare for someone to open their ps2, remove each of those caps from the board to get their original value and tell you... But maybe someone here is nice enough to do that.

T07N: if I do it myself (open up a pstwo and remove those caps), how would I be able to tell the value's of those caps? They are all caps? No resistors?

That would be an awful waste of a pstwo if you accidently burn a cap in the process of removing those tiny caps. Use a multimeter and measure the ohms of the caps once you remove it from the board. That's how you get the true value of the caps.

I believe they are all smd caps, resistors should have number values like the ones where we put the summ0ne's fix on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
