Just finished and install with a blue dot MI on a v12 PAL, including the diodes (not the 12c508 fix).

The problem is that when i plug in the power the red light comes on, but if i press it it goes green and immediately red again...

what went wrong, i checked all of my connections, and they seem ok (checked for continuity, also i tried it with the 3,3v connection removed, no dice.

Did i kill this ps2? if so i'm in deep trouble as it's not mine

i did, they appear to be fine, i'll check again. however, i tried again, completely cleaned everything up, and when i turn it on, i hear a VERY faint whirr, and a VERY faint click, and i'm sure it's not from the laser.....

nope cleaned everything up, no dice.

Something bothers me tho, some places where there should be fuses according to install pics, actually have resistors in this pstwo.....

New version to fix the laser problems?
    Unlikely, but still weird

I had this problem too, three times now. SCPH 70012CB Date Codes 4d with three blue dot MI's from two different suppiers. I am 99.9% certain that it is not my install. WTF?
