    hi

fitted a h20 to a v12 pal and fitted everything apart from the onboard fix and the resistor fix i then partially reassembled to check whether it was working.

booted fine straight away backups etc everything.

i then wen't on and applied the onboard fix and the resistor fix, booted it up and it would sit on the browser for ages then eventually boot. the same with originals and backups

so trying to troubleshoot i removed the resistor fix and tried it, it goes to the browser and just sits there its trying to read the disc, if you go into browser it says "reading disc" rather than no data etc. (originals and backups)

i refitted the resistor fix and it now is just as above when i'd removed it

also the weird thing is when i initailly tried it without the fixes i didn't have the z wire fitted (forgot) does anyone know what this wire does?? its fitted now should i remove and give it a go??

can this happen with the fixes??

cheers for your time reading this

Yes, this can happend with the fix.

    1) You have damaged the smd resistors and need to replace them (90% chance)
    2) Something else is wrong.

If i were you, remove the 2 resistors (683, or 303) and replace them with 100k resistors (01d). If u find it hard to solder on, just wire them to resistor.

    And it will prob work.
Those SMD resistors on the v12 damage so easy.
Ive done this 5-6 times my self.

Oh. Check if the drive spin, if it does exchange the resisotrs with 100k (then u dont need fix). If laser not moving something else is wrong.

thanks for the reply espen m8 you're a one man ps2-scene for me at the moment

the drive is spinning and the lasers moving etc you can hear it trying to read but its just not going past the browser screen.

so by removing the two resistors and replacing with a 100 one do i just solder to the small pad on the left side where the 303 resisor used to be. top to bottom (if that makes sense).

is it best just use the same type of resistor as usualy used for summones?? or is there any other way as i'll have to order them in??

    cheers again m8
