V12 Modchip –
Hey all, I haven't been on the site in a few mths (forgot my old pwd for my other account) so things might have changed.
Is there any modchips for the v12 that has all of these fixes builit in (sub, summ0ne, etc) and also no trace cutting, so I can just solder it in and im done with it and not worried about lasers burning, etc?
If so, what chip is best?
You should buy the Neofix XIV if you want laser protection. The H20 chip has intergrated laser fix but it's no better than Neofix XIV fix. Plus, it requires cutting traces and the Neofix XIV does not. I sell XIV fix if you need em.
I've had no problems using the subzero fix built in to H2O chips or seperately. There's only one track that needs cutting and it's easy to do.
I can get the H20+V1. Is this chip any good? anyone have a diagram for it?
It's not bad if you just want a basic game booting chip.
Keep this in mind though:
Since the chip now runs at 3v which does not go to 0V in standby, the chip will experience exactly 1 unsuccesfull boot - the first after the PS2 is turned on from standby. We are already writing a new standby detection algorythm for the H2O+ v2 (next code revision, due soon).
The bug can be avoided by taking the +3v3 from 5v thru 2 1N4148 diodes:
That way the chip will have true 100% bootrate even with this bug :-)
I have some original H2Os if you need one.
