v12 laser burn out –

hi there put 2k plus 47 plus pic fix on v12 no mod chip closed the box up to give it a run before moding gues what the laser melted tested tracking coils they where ok at 5 omh then tested the focus coils they were 2 omh so if i replace the laser would this fix the ps2 thanks.

Have you tried to remove the fixes and retry the console? Give that a shot and see what happens...

hi there fixes removed and the lens is clouded were it,s burnt out the lens failed more or less strait away it looks like the 2k on the traking coils did not burn out but the focus coils did so i have ordered a new laser just hopping nothing else got damaged.

Sounds like you may have damaged the resistors when soldering to the mobo - or the focus resistor that you added may have shorted on something.

hi there modicullus do you no the ohm,s rating of the focus resistors on the mobo in case they need changing thanks.

Sorry,... not offhand, but if you search through the 'summ0ne's fix' thread, I'm sure you'll find the resistor ratings in there.

Use our fix (comsoft & albert fix) and u wount have and dead resistor or anything like this.

just been reading the someone thread and by the looks of things there 30k on the focus resistors on both boards with 683 and 303 the focus resistors are the same for both boards thanks comsoft just emailed them for shipping to the uk or does any one know who is selling this fix in the uk and thanks for the help every one .
