Forget that fix, what you want is either the comsoft v4 fix or the summ0ne resistor fix, otherwise you will probably end up with a fried lens.![]()
Why would they include a fix that fries the lense...shit why would dmd team do it also, i thught they were good
That's one of the first fixes that came out, and it definitely doesn't work. My fix of choice is the SubZero, although I haven't tried the Comsoft v4.
what exactly does the modbo fix do?
"Since the power driver IC is mainly a bunch of amplifiers with high current outputs, the output
voltage is proportional to the input signal from the CD/DVD controller. By limiting the input
signal to the power driver we can ensure that the voltage swing on the coils does not exceed a
maximum value.
The input signal from the CD/DVD controller can be easily clipped to ~1.2v by using two very
common 1N4148 diodes connected to ground as from the following schematics."

i don't know who is dummer matrix for making a fix that doesn't work or modbo for copying it...
The diode fix works well with their pic fix.
whats that? can i add that to the fix they sent meOriginally Posted by T07N
You'd need to program a pic(notice link above). I'd just go with a simple resistor fix..
