I took a look at the modded ps2 of a friend that has no video/audio it has a matix infinity and the new comsoft's pic on a white pcb...the pic protection works, however, when you press the power button, there is no video/audio.

    His soldering is fine.
What could be the problem ?

Try taking everything off. See if the pstwo still works. Sometimes the problem could be because the modder burnt something. I would test if the pstwo still works.

And no audio/video is notoriously an installation problem, particularly the bios points (m-p, q-w). Tony's suggestions of removing everything is rock solid.

actually no audio/video isnt the bios points at all
its the decoder pins... (dont remember the letters but on v12's its those small tiny holes u solder too (one of them being dvd-rw support) i believe anyways those are the decoder points

but for sure no a/v is decoder, and not bios related
on that v12 either theres a bridge somewhere... or those points have been burnt off (it happens)
PIC based jailbreakers please visit my thread below and please READ. I have spent a few hours now trying to explain everythign as best I can here. You will also find my latest HEX releases there as well.

Either way man. If the bios is bridged or the CDX you can still get a black screen. I have seen it happen both ways. More often with the bios then the CDX as previously stated though.

Yeah, I can confirm that bios can be caused of blackscreen and no sound.
