I just got my V12 back from N£TM£ÇH at americanmodz, hooked it up. threw in a backup it booted right up, no problems. I was playing for about 25 minutes and the music started skipping then when it cut to a video that was skipping beyond belief and the laser in the PS2 sounded like it was going nuts. I reset the game and it took many minutes to load this time around. So I shut it off and threw in an origional and booted it up. Loaded quick, no laser freakage no skipping videos. It loaded up fast the first time playin a backup but from that time on they load SUPER slow and the laser freaks out. any help?

Chip is a Matrix Infinity and he said he put the laser fix on.

What type of discs are you using? Burn speed?

this is still happeneing it only seems to happen after my ps2 warms up. I was just playing katamari damacy and it booted fine, now after playing for 10 minutes the music started skipping, so i rebooted and insted of fully booting it started to load the screen that has browser and sys config, the blue ball started to appear and then the system froze, I had to unplug it to get it to shut off. So I throw in a different game and boot up and it boots but the laser is freaking out and taking forever to load.

**edit... whoa... I just walked back over and powered it back on and the laser made a sound which was very loud, i wasnt sure what it was so i let it go then 5 seconds later it did it again. I unpluged it a second later. I put in my store bought GT4 and booted up and it said unable to read disc, i rebooted it and it loaded up but very very very slow and the laser wasnt freaking out either.

Have you contacted Netmech?? Maybe you should be sorting this out with him as no one appears to have an answer as to why your console is acting this way.
It's obviously a laser issue of some kind.

odd.. did the summ0ne fix to.. Now i tested the pstwo with ritek dvd-r and played gta san andreas for 10 minutes or so.. reseted it a few times.. everything seemed to be ok. It is possible i forgot to plug in the fan plug when assembling the pstwo back together. Lets take this in emails or over the phone so we can work this out... this really isnt the place. ThX
