V10 Worked Fine ...

Hi

I just modded a V10 console, worked great with GTA SA. Played for 15 minutes then the game froze up. It gives me a black screen everytime I try to reset it. Open it, check solder, check timing wire ... let it rest for couple of hours and It boots again. 10 minutes later, black screen again

Any ideas ? I've done the romeo mod

almost sounds like a heat issue. Is your fan running?

Or it can be the disc itself bad burning or iso maybe try other games and see if the same appears.

yes the fan is running and I've tried with backups and originals. The backups works fine in a V4 and in a V7. Any of you had a similar problem with a V10 ?

I had a similar problem with a v10 MI mod. It worked fine when I tested it and when my customer used it for the first 2 or so times.. then it wouldn't work anymore, black screen. First time a wire had fallen off in transit. Second time it happened, I didn't see any fallen wires, but I resoldered everything and it's been working fine for 3 days now.

Check your solder spots - maybe a bad solder on one of the wires. Did you put back that rubber "heat sink" on the LA after modding it?

It's a soldering problem for sure. I have seen many PS2's like that. Most of them were modded using the CDVD controller, and the cold solder point caused this syndrome. Check your CDVD points or VIA's. Also the BIOS points.

well it's not exactly a heating problem theres a weak solder point. i suppose u used the cd dvd pinS?
