a v10 problem or not ?
I had fellow install my DMS3 v9 in my v10. He said the chip must be bad, when booting an original it went to black screen , but you could still hear audio. So he pulled the chip and returned all to me. Upon searching and reading on this forum I read that you have to have a controller plugged in to the console. I phoned him up and asked if he did , he said he didn't think so. When I read to him what was on the forum, he said I don't think you need a controller to boot an original. I get the impression he only wants to install his own magic chips and really doesn't care about the DMS3. This is the second PS2 I tried to have modded in last 3 months. The other was a ver.9 with a Magic ( that chip was bad) that install stressed that installer so bad that he wouldn't do the DMS3 in the ver10. The last guy just doesn't seem to care, so I still have a mod chip and still have a PS2. Will the 2 ever meet ?Anybody in Canada up to it ?

dms3 are good quality chips. magic V is also a good chip for the price if you installed right. there are a lot of installers in canada
just do a search with your area and the word "install".
good luck
